Zimbabwe Safaris

Zimbabwe is an authentic adventure destination in Africa. This picturesque temperate country is home to the touristy Victoria Falls, one of the natural astonishment of the world, the stone appendices of Great Zimbabwe – offcuts of a past empire – and to herds of elephant and other game wandering vast stretches of wilderness.

Zimbabwe brags several major tourist attractions; the Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River, which are shared with Zambia, are located in the north west of Zimbabwe. The Victoria Falls National Park is attached to the falls and is one of the eight main national parks in Zimbabwe with Hwange National Park as the largest.

The Eastern Highlands are a chain of mountainous areas near the border with Mozambique. The highest mountain in Zimbabwe, Mount Nyangani at 2,593 m (8,507 ft) is located here as well as the Bvumba Mountains and the Nyanga National Park. Biosphere’s View is in these mountains and it is from here that places as far away as 60–70 km (37–43 mi) are visible and, on clear days, the town of Rusape can be seen.

Zimbabwe is unacquainted in Africa in that there are a number of ancient ruined cities built in an exceptional dry stone style. The most prominent of these are the Great Zimbabwe ruins in Masvingo. Others include Khami Ruins, Zimbabwe, Dhlo-Dhlo and Naletale, although none of these is as renowned as Great Zimbabwe.
