3 Days Murchison Falls National Park Safari

Murchison Falls National Park derives its name from the Murchison Falls, where the mighty Nile River breaks through a tight gorge and flows into a smooth river with hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks and buffaloes on its banks. Savannah, Riverine forest and woodland characterize the vegetation.

Wildlife includes; lions, leopards, chimpanzee giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeests, oribis, Uganda Kob, Chimpanzees and many bird species including the rare shoebill stock.

 

DAY 1: Kampala – Murchison Falls NP.

Leave Kampala at 8 a.m., drive through the popular triangle of Luwero. Take a breakfast stop at the Masindi hotel. Drive to the park in time through the forest of Budongo on the western arm of the Great Rift Valley to appreciate the wonderful falls where the Nile perfects its magnificent falls.

Cross the great River Nile by a ferry before you retire to the superb comfort and service of Paraa Safari lodge. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge / Sambiya River Lodge or Red Chillis Camp.

DAY 2: Wildlife Safari in Murchison Falls NP

Take breakfast and you are transferred for a game drive to the northern portion of the park. View Elephants, Buffaloes, Bushbucks, Lions, and a variety of bird species.

After lunch, continue for a two-hour launch tour to the substructure of the mighty Murchison falls where sinister water flows out of the tight gorge, a chance to see the incredible hippos, crocodiles, water birds along the banks of the river allowing a great birding safari. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: Budongo Forest – Kampala Return Trip.

Crossing the river back through the forest of Budongo and lunch at the Masindi hotel after breakfast. Return at leisure to Kampala.

There is an optional activity of chimpanzee tracking at Pabidi Budongo forest on day three in the morning before driving back to Kampala.
