3 Days Uganda Gorilla Habituation Experience

Mountain Gorilla Habituation is an amazing experience; that gives mountain gorilla tracking a whole new incredible unbeatable comfort since you spend 4hrs with the mountain gorillas and observe every little detail about their behavior from the time they wake up through the feeding, care until they go to bed.

The experience is definitely worth it. This particular safari starts & ends in Kigali, making it a short drive that is only about 4hrs one way.

Day 1: Drive to Rushaga – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda

Our safari guide will pick you up from wherever you are in Kigali either a hotel or Kigali International Airport and drive north of Rwanda enjoying the lovely panoramic view of the region across the Cyanika border to the Bwindi impenetrable Forest National Park in the Rushaga sector.

Optional:
If time allows: optional guided Batwa trail Village Walk.
You will experience a demonstration from the Batwa pygmies on ancient hunting techniques, food gathering, visiting the Ngarama cave (Former Batwa King residence) and show you traditional medicinal plants.
Later, enjoy a traditional dance by the local Batwa women.
Note that trail walk can take up to 5hrs, and can be strenuous. Moderate physical fitness is required.

Day 2: Gorilla Habituation Experience – Rushaga:

Early Breakfast and bring your packed lunch from the lodge, you’ll meet the skilled researchers, trackers, and guides at the headquarters of the park and head out to the gorilla family you’re going to habituate.

You will spend four hours with the Mountain Gorillas and from the Habituation Team itself you will receive insights into the Gorilla community such as the rangers, conservationists, trackers and researchers.

Day 3: Return to Kigali: End of Gorilla Habituation Experience

Back to Kigali after breakfast. You’ll have a city tour with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, and Kigali market. Then either drop off at your hotel or at the international airport in Kigali.
